    • Welcome!
Glad that you liked this theme. 🙂

  1. Best wordpress theme ever. Love it! Thanks for making it free.

    • Thanks for the appreciation! You are most welcome to add links to your site in comments if you are using this theme or a modified version of it. 🙂

  2. hey please i can found where i can change the picture up and thank you for that theme is awesome

    • Hi lamrani,
      Thank you for your appreciation!

To change the header image you need set your own Gravatar at (free service by wordpress) associated with your email-id that you use to author/admin your blog.

By doing so, fastr theme will be able to display your Gravatar image instead of the anonymous image that it displays by default.

For e.g. my gravatar from is picked up in the fastr demo site

  3. Hello!

Nice theme but I have some feedback.

I don’t use (the homepage is about my pet) so I installed WP User Avatar plugin but the plugin doesn’t work with the theme. I can choose between Gravatars but not the local avatars. Please check out this plugin and make the theme compatible with the theme of us who don’t want or have an account on

I noticed that the page title and page description doesn’t appear on the pages, only in the blog feed. I want the page title and page description to display on all pages (blog feed, single posts, archives, static pages).

I would also like to be able to change the background of the header. Now you can just change the background of the content.

    • Hi Rebecka,

Thank you for your appreciation as well as detailed feedback.

Kindly note that currently this theme does not provide any kind of customizations out of the box and everyone is encouraged to use the open source code of this theme available at git to make modification of their own as per their choice.

This theme “fastr” was provided as the basic skeleton of a theme with just the bare necessities needed to be a WordPress blog theme. If I add customizations that is not desired by everyone, it will unnecessary bloat this theme and destroy its core purpose which is to be “fast”. Unnecessary bloat and customization is what makes all other themes slow and sluggish. Everyone is encouraged to add just what they want on top of this basic theme so that the extra bloat is private for them.

In case you are looking for a theme with better plugin supports and out-of-box customizations provided, I am afraid that you may have to look at other themes available at the WordPress directory.

However, I have noted your feedback and assure you that in future I will consider adding support for such customizations in other themes that I make. Just not this one. Hope you understand. Thank you once again for your feedback.

  4. Thanks a lot for this great theme and for making it free. I customized it to my needs and gave you credits in the about section 🙂

Just wanted to let you know. Wish you all the best!

    • Thank you René Fischer. 🙂

  5. Hi Kanish,
This is really lightweight and fast!
I’m adapting it for my blog and there’s only one thing I would like to know: how can I publish images with a full screen width (Medium like)? Which CSS line do you advise to modify?
Thanks a lot for this, keep doing things!
BTW, your “Developr Theme” is also fantastic.

    • Thank you for appreciation. 🙂
It will be difficult (if not impossible) to make the featured image full screen like medium just by using CSS. It would require changing the HTML document structure as well to move the featured image out of the main container as the container has fixed max width.

      • Thanks, Kanishk!
Well, that’s more or less what I had in mind, but I was trying to do that only on CSS.
I think maybe I can solve by partially using Aesop. Let’s see what happens.
        I’ll keep you posted.

  6. Hi Kanishk, Thanks for the awesome theme. Its is clean and simple. Can I add this theme in to my blog collection.

    • Thanks for the appreciation. Please feel free to add it to your blog collection. 🙂

  7. Hi Kanish. Awesome theme, using for my personal blog.
One question: how can I enable infinite scrolling? It’s not under the Reading setting, don’t know how I can enable it. Thanks!

    • Hi Vitor, You can enable Infinite scrolling using the jetpack plugin offered by WordPress.

  8. Thank you Kanishk , looks very nice theme !! keep up the good work !

    • Thank you! Glad you liked it. 🙂

  9. After searching a long, finally found a faster wordpress theme. Thank you.
Is there any way to get sidebar instead of bottombar ?

    • Thanks Jay for your comments! Unfortunately it is not possible to get sidebar instead of bottombar. But may I refer you to other similar responsive and minimal themes. I am sure you will be able to find the right one from there.

  10. Hi Kanishk,

    Thanks for your great theme.
    I have two questions:
How can I add recent 5 posts at the bottom?
How can I customize links at the bottom?(to add rss feed link)?

    • Hi smaxpp, Just like in any other themes, you can go ahead and make use of WordPress Recent Posts Widget for adding recent posts. You can do this by going to “Appearance -> Widgets” in your WordPress dashboards and dragging the Recent post Widget to Footer sidebar. For customizing links, create a WordPress menu by going to “Appearance -> Menus” and add RSS feed link in that and then assign that menu as Footer menu. You can find more help in the WordPress official documentations as these things would normally work with any WordPress themes. Thank you for stopping by..

  11. Hi – I have a site where all the posts are sticky (they are linked from IFTTT and it seems to default as that). As a result the home page has no pagination and just displays all posts in one massive long list.

Is there a simple way to change the code so that it paginates even though they are sticky?

    Thanks Nick

    • Hi Nick, In my opinion having all the posts as sticky is something that you should try to avoid instead. It’s quite easy to make posts non-sticky. However if you are looking for changes in code then I think this might guide you in the right direction.

  12. Great theme! I was hoping to get help on two things:
    1. How do i disable post title links? I don’t want posts to link into it’s own page.
    2. Instead of using the gravatar, can i use my own custom image?

    • Hey Joel, both of these things are not possible without modifying the theme yourself.

  13. hello
images arent showing in the front page even though i have added a featured image. is this something that is not supported with this theme?

    • Yes, display of featured image on front page is not supported.

  14. As a minimalist, I searched high and low for a simple theme that focuses solely on the content and eliminates the fluff. Close to giving up really, but you saved me. Thank you so much for this!

  15. How long did it take you to make this theme?

I like the fastr theme, but there are a few things I would like to add to it.

    • This was my first WordPress theme and if I remember correctly, it took me around 10-12 hours to build it starting from the underscores starter theme. The theme is deliberately kept simple to allow people to extend it as per their own liking.
